The ABCDs of Self-Care in High Stress Jobs

Workshop Overview:
The ABCD’s of Self-Care in High Stress Jobs

High stress roles demand more from us than the average workday, which means intentional self-care is not optional. It is essential. The ABCD’s of Self-Care in High Stress Jobs is a practical, empowering workshop designed to help professionals protect their wellbeing while sustaining their compassion, clarity, and capacity to serve.

Led by Kerese Douglas, Social Worker, this workshop provides a grounded, real-world approach to navigating the pressures of front-line and emotionally intensive work. Participants will explore:

A – Accountability:
Learning to take ownership of your wellness, recognize early warning signs of burnout, and implement practices that support long-term resilience.

B – Boundaries:
Developing and maintaining healthy boundaries that safeguard your emotional, mental, and physical health while still allowing you to show up with empathy and professionalism.

C – Codependency Prevention:
Understanding the patterns that pull helping professionals into unhealthy dynamics, and building strategies to maintain clarity, compassion, and objectivity.

D – Debriefing:
Learning how to process difficult situations through healthy debriefing practices that reduce vicarious trauma and support longevity in the field.

This workshop equips participants with practical tools, reflective exercises, and evidence-informed strategies they can use immediately. Whether you are in social services, healthcare, education, or any high-pressure environment, this training will help you strengthen your wellbeing, extend your career, and continue serving with purpose and integrity.
